IBTE students finish training at Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd

A GROUP of seven students from IBTE Agro-Technology Campus (formerly known as Wasan Vocational School) have recently completed their 14 weeks internship at Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd.

The NTec students were selected to be part of the internship to gain practical knowledge in the field of aquaculture industry.

The internship programme required the students to train in different departments within Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd to gain hands on experience in the cultivation and breeding techniques of blue shrimps, both in the hatchery and the shrimp farms. They had a chance to take part in farm activities such as feeding, harvesting, quality check and transportation.

They also took lessons in shrimp and Surimi processing at the company’s fully equipped processing plant in Tutong.

At the end of the training course, the Managing Director of Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd, Richard Chuang Hsi Shan, presented certificates of appreciation to all the students.

Also present during the event were the teachers from IBTE Agro-Technology Campus, namely Awangku Zulfikar Akram bin Pengiran Haji Hamdan, Awangku Khairezza Nurul Azim bin Pengiran Aliahman and ILO (Industrial License Officer) Haji Zulhafiz Aslam bin Haji Omar Ali.

Golden Corporation commenced operations in June 2012 and prides itself as the only fully integrated producer of seafood products in Brunei. It is also the first company to produce organic feed and breed organic blue shrimp.
