National Service participants visitsGolden Corporation Sdn Bhd

A group comprising of100 participants aged between 16 and 21of the National Service Programme (PKBN) visits Golden Corporation SdnBhd, a leading quality seafood producer.

Dubbed The Multi-Purpose Marine Resources Processing and Business Centre, the facility is a result of collaboration betweenSemaun Marine Resources SdnBhd and foreign direct investor Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd.

The group was welcomed on arrival and taken on a first-hand tour by the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Richard Chuang Hsi Shan and other staff of the company. Prior to the visit, the PKBN participantsvisited other agencies under Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources. The group made visits to Brunei Industrial Development Authority (BINA), Agriculture and Agrifood Department, Forestry Department, Fisheries Department, Forestry and Marine Bio-diversity Centre.

The visit enabled them to gain experience and ideas on the daily operations in various sections, and could also provide possible career opportunities. This particular visit was initiated by Fisheries Department and it was headed by SJN Mohd. Shahron Bin MohdSalleh(Asst. Chief Supervisor).

Golden Corporation SdnBhd has been operating at the Serambangun industrial estate in Tutong. Its principal business is in aquaculture and seafood processing of fish and shrimp.

By the first quarter of this year, the company plans to venture into value-added retail seafood products/snacks for the mass market. The company also provides assistance and technical know-how to local shrimp and fish aqua-farmers. At present, the company caters to the domestic and Asian regional markets, and is in the process of finalizing exports to both the US and EU market.
